Patch Notes 1.4-1.5
I am dumb and didn't see there was a dev log RIGHT HERE for patch notes x_x
Copying patch notes over from google doc. I might remove the google drive link at some point and just update patch notes here as part of the devlog? I'm not really sure.
1.4.1 11/1/24
-Unnecessary events near crystal removed
-Misspelling on “Bright Feather” fixed
-Helina no longer pranks Caleb on loop, infinitely
-Caleb no longer explains he is a surfer over and over
-Added cutscene referencing the cutscene repeat bug
-”Improved” drop rates of items
-”Improved” God fight
-Egg revival
1.4.2 11/3/24
-Egg typo fix
-Helina and Ori no longer hang around on the screen. Ori has a life.
-Certain items were getting cut off and skewed in menus, fixed item text.
Items affected by this change:
“Dispel Clover” is now “Clover”
“Bright Feather” is now “Feather”
“Wad of Garbage” is now “Garbage”
“Dubious Mold” is now “Mold” (Changed it back because I liked it being called "Dubious Mold")
“Garbage” description shortened
“Pineapple Slap!” description shortened
-Gum is now a visible item
-removed mold after gaining Moe
-Clovens avatar was updated, the shirt was the wrong color and her hair is no longer cut short
-Fixed various graphical issues in Elysium (stalactite blocking view, lighting issue, etc)
-added “Street Elysium” upon load in
-Reworked convenient store (it was a point and click section that was just too confusing)
-Remove skip at beginning
-Added a brief explanation of what clovers do
^This is old art for the store when it was a click and point section
^New art. It will likely see a facelife in the full release.
1.5 11/7/24
-Created a list of all music used, deleted unnecessary music files to try to tackle the file bloat issue
-Fixed chest visual bug
-Fixed disclaimer warning: now includes references to drugs, alcohol and gambling
-Changed hallway flags in order to make the minotaur chase sequence more seamless
-Changed lamp to look less phallic
-Moe now gives the item “mold chunks”
-Polished and enabled secret area
1.5 11/8/24
-Fixed cutscene crash frequency (hooray!) by shortening the length of the video as well as adjusting size and frame rate. The cutscene has yet to crash for me in multiple tests. We’ll see how it holds upon further play testing before announcing it totally fixed.
1.5.1 11/17/24
-Fixed many spelling/grammar errors
-Fixed “nothing” being cut off in conversation with Kane
-Fixed Phillip giving side quests infinitely
-Added a “game manual”, which still needs more pages
-Edited Tin’s Haiku to be a Haiku (may not be a Haiku still?)
-Added loading screen to hide graphical glitch upon entering Elysium
-Fixed whooshing bug!!!
-Helina’s prank line is no longer in the middle of the screen
-Fixed inconsistent spelling of Helina
^One of the loading screens added. Some areas have a weird graphical glitch upon loading in for the first time. I stopped pulling my hair out trying to fix it and just covered it with a nice looking loading screen. I also utilized loading screens to preload in animations. RPGMakerMV doesn't like frame by frame animation, it ends up really choppy. I played with this for a while and finally figured out if you load it once under a still picture then the next time it plays it'll be nice and smooth. I'll try to upload a video in the future to better explain this.
1.5.2 11/21/24
-Added more loading screens
-Added “game manual” page explaining the controls and menu
-Fixed the dialogue that says “threat” instead of “thread”
- Added a dialogue notifying the player they should go to check out when done
-Added subtle notification of secret area
-Sasha convo
-Shopkeeper boss battle
-Added more ending to convenient store
^REALLY happy with how Phil's art turned out. I wanted to just paint over the "General_M" (I think that was the enemy name) and got kind of carried away... giving him art for multiple phases... it was really fun tho!
Known Issues
-Sound mixing
-End cutscene might still freeze occasionally (seems to be fixed)
-Cutscene audio too quiet
-Helina can sometimes meditate others (conditions for this unclear)
-WASD controls (I’d like to add this)
-Spelling/grammar errors (although much less now)
